Additional Funding for BBC World Service

That the Parliament welcomes the announcement of £4.1 million of emergency funding for the BBC World Service; understands that there have been record Russian and Ukrainian audiences for BBC services since the Russian invasion of Ukraine began; commends what it sees as the heroic work of the BBC and journalists from a number of outlets who continue to report from the frontline, and welcomes what it considers are innovative methods by the BBC to provide trusted, impartial and independent news to Russian audiences through new TikTok accounts.
