The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the announcement that Inverclyde Libraries will benefit from £38,152 worth of funding from the last tranche of awards made from the Scottish Government’s £1.25 million Public Library Covid Relief Fund, which is administered by the Scottish Library and Information Council; understands that Inverclyde Libraries will use this funding to tackle social isolation and bridge the digital divide through their Making It Real project, which offers a tailored digital inclusion outreach programme; notes that this programme targets residents within Inverclyde’s most deprived communities who are, in turn, it believes, most disadvantaged by their lack of access to digital services; appreciates that the project also hopes to reconnect people to the wider library offer; commends Inverclyde Libraries on their efforts to tackle social and digital exclusion in the area, and wishes them all the best as they roll-out their Making It Real programme.
