Doon Academy Tackle Homophobia

The motion

That the Parliament commends the pupils and teachers at Doon Academy, in Dalmellington, in setting up a football v homophobia event to tackle stigma in the game and in society as a whole; understands that the day was part of Doon Academy’s progress towards its LGBT Youth Scotland Silver Charter award; notes that more than 120 people took part in the day by displaying rainbow colours as a sign of their ongoing efforts to change people’s perceptions, and wishes them well in continuing on what it sees as this important journey.
