The motion

That the Parliament recognises this year's World Autism Acceptance Week, which takes place from 28 March to 3 April 2022, the aim of which is to draw attention to the reported 700,000 people living with autism in the UK; believes that people living with autism must be able to live in a world that respects their equality and human rights and becomes a much friendlier place for them; notes that the United Nation's theme for World Autism Acceptance Day 2022 is "Inclusion in the Workplace: Challenges and Opportunities in a Post-Pandemic World"; considers that far more needs to be done in Scotland to tackle the autism employment gap and support more autistic people into work; acknowledges the view that more needs to be done to educate employers on how to properly support autistic employees, and believes that political representatives should use their platform to advocate for autistic people's rights and wellbeing, not just this week, but every week.
