The Machan Trust Continues to Deliver for Young People in the Larkhall Area

The motion

That the Parliament commends what it sees as the outstanding work that the Machan Trust has done for young people, children and families living in the Larkhall area; notes that the Trust’s values are dignity, inclusion and respect; understands that the Trust reaches 450 to 500 children every week, has delivered over 1,500 breakfast packs and over 7,000 breakfasts in schools since its foundation; further understands that, throughout lockdown, the group delivered breakfast packs, cooking packs, food bank parcels and, where necessary, period products and clothes for children and adults; understands that the Trust currently runs a lunch and after-school club in four local primary schools, as well as the Larkhall summer programme, and believes that this is an excellent volunteer-led initiative, which is providing lifeline support to young people, children and families.
