The motion

That the Parliament commends Wishaw-based football fan, Scott McClure, who is currently in Zambia, after nearly three years of planning, to spread his love of football and to help boost the local economy; understands that Scott set up Pepe’s Zambia Football Foundation in order to provide children in the African country with football strips and equipment, which will be distributed in the community and throughout schools in Zambia; further understands that over 950kg of equipment has been shipped across continents and thousands of pounds have been raised to support the work of the foundation, and recognises the contribution that local schools, Our Lady and St Francis and St Brendan's, played in the fundraising effort by participating in a charity football tournament at Ravenscraig Sports Centre, which was attended by Motherwell Football Club player and Ugandan international, Bevis Mugabi.
