Merkinch Primary is Development of the Year
The motion
That the Parliament notes that Merkinch Primary School has been named Development of the Year in the public buildings category at the Scottish Property Awards 2022; understands that the new building, which included 14 classrooms, a new nursery room and a games hall, opened to pupils in 2021; recognises the importance of the primary school, nursery and Family Centre to the local community in Merkinch and South Kessock; notes the work that many put in over the years to get the best facilities possible for the area, including local councillors, community leaders, the headteacher, and the former Director of Care and Learning at the Highland Council, and hopes that this vote of confidence in the community will make a big difference to young Marvellous Merkinchers for years to come.
