Fundraising Danceathon Raises Almost £3,000 for Ability Shetland

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Shetland charity, Ability Shetland, for its successful Danceathon fundraising event, which, it understands, raised almost £3,000; understands that the Danceathon was held for 24 hours on 1-2 April 2022 as part of Inclusive Sports Week and included sessions on a range of dance styles, and was supported by local instructors, bands and DJs; further understands that Ability Shetland supports the efforts of disabled people to realise their full potential, through clubs for socialising, music, arts and crafts and sports for both children and adults; understands that the charity relies on the generosity of the public at fundraising events; commends the efforts of Ability Shetland’s volunteers and staff to organise the Danceathon, and wishes them success in their future endeavours.
