Ellie Gomersall Elected as NUS Scotland President

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Ellie Gomersall on being elected as the new National Union of Students Scotland President; understands that Ellie stood on a manifesto that is committed to addressing the mental health crisis, working with tenants’ unions such as Living Rent to tackle rogue landlords, purpose built student accommodation (PBSA) providers and fully publicly-funded colleges and universities; further understands that Ellie is an experienced campaigner and that in 2021, she was elected President of UWS Students' Union; understands that she led a hugely successful sabbatical team by encouraging and embracing healthy, effective communication and embedding this approach throughout the organisation, and wishes Ellie all the best for the future.
