Scottish Para-Football Programme Wins UEFA Grassroots Award

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Scottish Para-Football on winning the UEFA Grassroots Award for Best Disability Initiative 2021-22; praises the initiative for consolidating nine forms of disability football under one inclusive umbrella; understands that the award is given to celebrate excellence beneath the elite levels of European football, highlighting the unsung heroes whose dedication allows the game to thrive and provides a foundation for the wider development of the sport; further understands that Scottish Para-Football was selected as the winner of the award by UEFA's Executive Committee, following recommendations made by the organisation's Grassroots Panel bureau and Development and Technical Assistance Committee, and believes that, with one million people in Scotland reportedly identifying as being disabled, initiatives like these are crucial for continuing to develop inclusive and equal sporting communities across the country.
