First Defibrillator for West Craigs at Heart Group

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates West Craigs at Heart members, Jennifer Faskin, Anne Marie O’Grady, Lauretta Carey, Michelle Malarkey and the local community on successfully fundraising over £14,000 to install what, it understands are potentially lifesaving defibrillators throughout the West Craigs estate in Blantyre, South Lanarkshire; welcomes the installation of the group’s first defibrillator at the Scotmid West Craigs store; further understands that the money for the defibrillator was raised through door-to-door collections, raffles, a charity evening and donations from organisations and businesses; recognises the importance of access to defibrillators and their role in increasing the chances of survival for those experiencing a cardiac arrest; commends West Craigs at Heart on its commitment to the health and wellbeing of residents, and wishes them well for the future.
