Funding Success for Mental Health Cafe in Haddington
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Keep the Heid Cafe in Haddington on receiving over £9,000 of funding from the local Area Partnership and Community Health and Wellbeing Fund, which is administered by Volunteer Centre East Lothian; understands that the cafe, which opened in 2021, is an important service for the people of Haddington and surrounding areas; further understands that the funding will allow the cafe project to carry on its work of offering a safe place for people in and around Haddington who are living with poor mental health, to share and to talk about their mental health; notes what it sees as the importance of community groups in this field as a method of community support, and wishes the team at Keep the Heid well as they continue to run their service in the months ahead.
