Greyhope Bay, Café and Community Engagement Centre
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Greyhope Bay, based at the Torry Battery, on the scheduled opening of its café and community education centre on 9 April 2022; commends Greyhope Bay on what it sees as its commitment to sustainability; notes the innovative design of the centre, which, it understands, allows it to operate off-grid, as a result of a hybrid energy solution, circular rainwater treatment, and composting toilets with no need for water, electricity or chemicals; recognises what it sees as the positive impact that Greyhope Bay has in bringing people to the local area and in educating people through storytelling on issues such as marine life, including the bottlenose dolphins, which can be seen from the centre; praises the work of Greyhope Bay volunteers in making the work of the centre possible and their twice monthly beach cleans, and wishes all involved at Greyhope Bay continued success with future projects.
