Tasty New Destination as Uddingston Food Market Launches

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the launch of South Lanarkshire’s new Uddingston Food Market, which, it understands is to be located at the Uddingston Bowling and Tennis Club; notes that the market will launch on 24 April 2022 at 10am and thereafter, will be open on the last Sunday of each month from 10am to 3pm, featuring high quality produce from a range of Scottish producers; understands that products on sale will include artisan and organic nut butters, authentic pizzas, hand-made hot sauces, small batch roast coffee, pastries and sour dough breads, cookie pies, smoothies and much more, as well as featuring other entertainment, including face and body painting, and considers that the Uddingston Food Market is a welcome addition to Lanarkshire’s burgeoning artisan food scene, offering what it sees as a unique opportunity to both support independent vendors and local businesses as well as revitalise local communities.
