The Steam Packet Inn Wins Top Award

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates The Steam Packet Inn, in Newton Stewart, Dumfries and Galloway, on being voted the Cider Pub of the Year by the Ayrshire and Wigtownshire CAMRA; understands that to qualify for this prestigious award, the cider must be fermented from the whole juice of fresh pressed apples without the use of concentrate or chaptalized juices; notes the work being carried out by the management team of Toni and Callum Harvey in raising the profile of the popular hostelry; understands that they worked alongside Five Kingdoms Brewery to make it one of the regions foremost food and drink destinations, and wishes all the staff involved every success as it welcomes more customers through the doors.
