Greenock Morton FC Centenary of Winning Scottish FA Cup

The motion

That the Parliament notes the centenary celebrations of Greenock Morton FC winning its sole Scottish Cup on 15 April 1922 with a 1-0 victory over Glasgow Rangers, thanks to a Jimmy Gourlay strike on 12 minutes; notes the importance of this success when the history of the Scottish FA Cup has been dominated by teams from cities across the country; pays tribute to Dave Edwards, Jock McIntyre, Robert Brown, Jimmy Gourlay, Jackie Wright, Bob McGregor, Jock Buchanan, Alex McNab, Bobby McKay, Alfred Brown, James McMinn and Manager, Bob Cochrane for creating their own history and what it understands was the greatest day in the history of Greenock Morton FC; understands that the club is now owned by its football fans, which, it believes, is providing a new emphasis on striving for success on the field and community engagement off it, and wishes everyone connected with Greenock Morton FC best wishes for the remainder of this centenary season.
