Reece McEwan Sets Sights on the UFC
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter, Reece McEwan from Greenock on his recent win in his debut bout at Cage Warriors, Europe’s top MMA promotion; understands that the 27-year-old beat Englishman, Sam Spencer by submission after 14 and a half minutes and as a result, has now signed a five fight deal with Cage Warriors; further understands that Reece’s four-year amateur career included six title fights and saw him rise to the rank of number one bantamweight fighter in the UK and Ireland before going professional in February 2020; understands that stars like Conor McGregor kickstarted their careers in Cage Warriors before going on to compete in the UFC, and that Reece hopes to follow that same path, and wishes Reece all the best as he prepares for his next Cage Warriors fight in summer 2022.
