Heather Mair Receives Royal Society for Arts Award

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Heather Mair, 17, from Gourock on receiving the Royal Society of Arts west award; understands that the Clydeview Academy pupil’s artwork was painted in watercolour and makes use of light and shade; notes that as well as holding the RSA title, Heather will receive a cash prize of £150; understands that there were over 1,000 entries to the competition and that Heather’s art and design teacher has heralded her as a highly creative pupil; further understands that Heather has secured a place at Abertay University to study for a degree in computer game applications development but plans to keep art as a hobby, and wishes Heather all the best as she prepares to move to Dundee for university.
