Sheila Fleet Jewellery Raises £100,000 in Donations
The motion
That the Parliament commends Sheila Fleet Jewellery on raising £100,000 in donations through its charitable Daisy collection since 2014; understands that the Orkney-based jeweller recently reached this significant milestone, which began as a collection called Daisies for Emily to support a former employee, Emily Findlay, who, it understands was diagnosed with neuroblastoma aged 14; understands that over £4,000 was raised within the first month of the collection launching, which, it understands was inspired by a photograph taken by Sheila Fleet's late husband, Rick, with a contribution made to the Orkney Charitable Trust on every sale to support Emily's treatment and for her family; further understands that Sheila Fleet Jewellery latterly expanded the charitable collection introducing Coloured and Diamond Daisy designs, which, it understands has supported a range of causes and charities over the years, including the Orkney Charitable Trust, Pancreatic Cancer Action Scotland and MS Society Orkney; congratulates Sheila Fleet OBE and the staff at the world-renowned jeweller on this milestone, and thanks all the customers who have supported the Daises collection over the years, which, it believes has made an invaluable difference to many lives.
