Orkney RFC Crowned Caledonia Champions

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Orkney RFC's First XV side who were crowned as the Tennant's Caledonia League Division 1 Champions after their 7-50 victory over Aberdeen Wanderers on 16 April 2022; understands that Orkney RFC romped through the Championship with 14 wins in 16 matches that secured the Orkney side five points clear of second place rivals, Dunfermline; understands that the club is now looking forward to returning to the National League Division 3 for the first time since 2019; commends Orkney captain, Scott Rendall, vice-captain, Scott Russell and the whole squad on their outstanding achievement this season; acknowledges the young talent that has been brought into the squad by the coaches, which bodes well for the future; thanks all the supporters of Orkney RFC, including main sponsors The Orkney Brewery and Northlink Ferries, and wishes the squad all the very best for future success in the National League.
