Wishaw Woman Provides Remote Polish Lessons to Ukrainian Refugees

The motion

That the Parliament recognises Joanna Mazzocchi, a Polish-born Wishaw woman, for helping Ukrainian refugees arriving in Poland by giving free language tutorials; understands that Joanna, who is currently completing a technical qualification at the University of Gdansk, and teaches at a Polish school in Glasgow, has started online lessons with groups of Ukrainian refugees, aged from nine to 90 years old, who have fled to Poland; further understands that more than 2.75 million Ukrainians, 90% of them women and children, have reportedly fled to Poland since the start of the war, according to the United Nations Refugee Agency, with approximately five million Ukrainians having left their country since the start of hostilities; commends Joanna on what it sees as her impeccable aid to Ukrainian refugees in Poland, and wishes her and her family the best for the future.
