Bridge of Don and District Men’s Shed Accomplishments

The motion

That the Parliament applauds the hard work and generosity of the Bridge of Don and District Men’s Shed for completing various community projects ranging from building benches and planters to coastal and flood defences; understands that the organisation aims to provide men with opportunities to improve their health, wellbeing and practical skills with the purpose of developing the local community by improving amenities and education; further understands that the group has taught children from several schools how to build raised garden beds, toys and various other useful skills whilst also carrying out various building, refurbishment and clearing work for all locals, particularly those experiencing difficulty; understands that the group offers various fun social activities for members and locals, including women, to build a friendly enjoyable atmosphere and to provide a mental health support group, which it understands has even been utilised by occupational therapists looking to assist their clients with very positive outcomes; commends all of the Bridge of Don and District Men’s Shed members for their hard work, and wishes them all the best in the future.
