Dalziel Rugby Club 30th Anniversary Festival of Youth Rugby

The motion

That the Parliament recognises Dalziel Rugby Club, who it understands celebrated its 30th anniversary Festival of Youth Rugby in memory of Alan Calder, on 23 April 2022, at Dalziel Park, Cleland Estate, sponsored by DécorAll Ltd; understands that the festival hosted 1,000 players, from the pre-school Dinky Dragons to the under-18s teams, promoting teamwork ethics and encouraging a new generation of rugby players in the local area; believes that the festival inspires young people and highlights opportunities in rugby across Motherwell and Wishaw; commends Dalziel Rugby Club for continuing to develop opportunities and improvements for children and young adults to participate in sports, and thanks all the local volunteers for their hard work to deliver the hugely successful inaugural event.
