Mental Health Awareness Week
The motion
That the Parliament notes that Mental Health Awareness Week runs from 9 to 15 May 2022; recognises this as an opportunity to focus on achieving good mental health and understands that the theme for 2022 is loneliness; notes findings from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) Working Lives Scotland report, which show that 26% of employees feel that their work impacts negatively on their mental health; believes that loneliness at work can have a severely negative impact on employees' mental health; recognises what it sees as the key role that line managers can play in tackling the issue of loneliness at work, and supports the CIPD's calls for employers to provide training and support to line managers to develop key behaviours that support the health, wellbeing and engagement of their people.
