Grangemouth G.E.M. Project Brings Local Community Together

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Grangemouth Community Pantry and Falkirk Council on the successful start-up of the Growing. Eating. Meeting (G.E.M) Project in Grangemouth, Falkirk; understands that the project stands to assist the local community in food related initiatives, while also establishing a community café and opportunities for those in the local area; recognises what it sees as the importance of the project in creating volunteering opportunities, courses, cookery classes, events and open evenings for those of all ages in the community in supporting social interactions and mental health following the COVID-19 pandemic; notes what it sees as the importance of the £24,000 funding award from Falkirk Food Futures on behalf of the UK Community Renewal Fund; congratulates Grangemouth Community Pantry and Falkirk Council on their successful funding award and subsequent opening of the G.E.M. Project, and wishes them continued success in the future.
