Lodged by Clare Adamson (Scottish National Party) Standard Motion 21 supporters

The motion

That the Parliament commends the staff and regulars of The Cherry Tree in Netherton on their fundraising efforts for Cancer Research UK and Lanarkshire Cancer Care Trust; understands that the event was a spinoff from Yvonne Jeffery’s sponsor sheet, where she hoped to raise a few pounds for Cancer Research UK, raising over £5,200 through auctions and raffles on the night; further understands that local businesses, Motherwell Football and Kieran Tierney, a local man who now plays for Arsenal FC, provided prizes for the live auction; understands that the money raised will enable Lanarkshire Cancer Care and Cancer Research UK to support more people affected by cancer and will help to fund more cancer research, and wishes the staff and regulars of The Cherry Tree all the best for the future.
