Queen’s Baton Relay Selection for Falkirk East Constituent
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates David Allan of Grangemouth, Falkirk, on his selection as a Batonbearer at the forthcoming 16th official Queen’s Baton Relay, prior to the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games commencing on the 28 July and closing on 8 August 2022; understands that the Queen’s Baton Relay began on 7 October 2021 and is subject to a journey across the 72 nations and territories within the Commonwealth spanning 294 days; further understands that David has been heavily involved in promoting equality issues and ensuring fair treatment for all in the local area, particularly through his work with Enable Scotland to ensure that self-service checkouts across Falkirk are accessible for all; congratulates David on his selection as a Batonbearer for the Scotland section of the Queen’s Baton Relay between 18 to 22 June 2022, and wishes him well for the event.
