The Fox and Hounds, The Best Pub in Renfrewshire

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Fox and Hounds pub in Houston on winning the National Pub and Bar awards nomination as the best pub in Renfrewshire; understands that the Fox and Hounds will go forward to a further round of the competition with the opportunity to win the title of the National Pub and Bar of the Year; further understands that these awards aim to put exemplary licensed premises in the national spotlight, showcasing the hospitality industry’s diversity, creativity and vital importance to the economy; notes that the Fox and Hounds also won the CAMRA campaign for real ales pub of the year for Renfrewshire; understands that the Fox and Hounds was taken over by a local family at the start of 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, and notes that the new Fox and Hounds is a re-imagined version of the pub, which has stood its ground for almost 250 years.
