Kirriemuir Nurse and Brain Tumour Survivor in Fundraising Challenge

Lodged by Graeme Dey Standard Motion 29 supporters

The motion

That the Parliament commends Fern Cameron, a Ninewells Hospital oncology nurse from Kirriemuir in Angus, for taking on the Jog 26.2 Miles in May Challenge to raise money for the Brain Tumour Research charity, after having survived an astrocytoma brain tumour herself last year; notes the appreciation expressed by the charity for her efforts to enable progress in this vital area of medical research and improve outcomes for fellow patients, with over £1,200 already raised; believes that there is a relative lack of scientific understanding of this form of more indiscriminate cancer, which kills more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other; understands that Fern is facing her challenge without previous experience as a runner, and wishes her all the best in this and all her endeavours.
