The motion

That the Parliament welcomes Shell’s plans to operate 100,000 public charging points for electric vehicles around the UK by 2030; understands that this is part of the company's aim to invest £20 to £25 billion in the UK over the next 10 years, mostly in low- and zero-carbon projects; further understands that this electric charging investment will also include 11,000 rapid machines that reach 80% charge within 30 minutes, meaning that 90% of drivers in the UK would be within a 10-minute drive of a Shell rapid charger; understands that by 2030 there could be around 500,000 Shell chargers at home and workplaces; applauds what it sees as this fantastic initiative by Shell to help the UK cut its emissions to net zero by 2050, and hopes that this initiative is a great success.
