Stefano Pepin of Largs Wins BAFTA

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Stefano Pepin of Largs on winning an award in the Special, Visual and Graphic Effects category at the Virgin Media British Academy Television Craft Awards (BAFTA); understands that the special effects guru and five of his colleagues won the honour for their work on the Netflix series, The Witcher; is aware that the BAFTA was awarded for the first episode of the second season, which opens with a long, sweeping aerial shot showing the aftermath of a devastating battle from the end of the first season; notes that the scene was created using drone photography to create an entire forest, soldiers and re-projections with a full 3D terrain using computer graphics; believes that Stefano has had a highly successful career in the film industry, which saw him work on numerous blockbusters alongside some of the sector’s most famous stars including Brad Pitt, Steven Spielberg and Kevin Costner; considers this win to be the reward for all of Stefano's hard work and determination throughout his career, and wishes him all the best in his future endeavours.
