UK Industry Association for Health Technology Launches ABHI Scotland
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the decision by the Association of British HealthTech Industries (ABHI), the leading UK industry association for health technology, to launch ABHI Scotland to help Scotland’s HealthTech community attract new investment and bring the work of healthcare innovators to more patients at home and abroad; recognises the importance to patients and the country's life sciences sector of the HealthTech community of companies and researchers; understands that, between them, global players with a base in Scotland, Scottish university spin-outs and locally-founded companies employ over 9,000 highly-skilled people; commends the close working relationship between the NHS, Scotland’s universities and colleges and the HealthTech industry, and considers that ABHI’s move is a vote of confidence in this growing sector.
