National Lottery Funding for Grangemouth Old People’s Welfare

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes National Lottery Awards for All Scotland funding of £9,990 for Grangemouth Old Peoples Welfare, which, it believes, will be put to good use at its base in Talbot House near Grangemouth town centre; understands that the objectives of Grangemouth Old People’s Welfare is to promote and assist the welfare of senior citizens within the burgh of Grangemouth, encouraging the involvement of the wider community, provide services, lunches and activities to promote good physical and mental health, while utilising their facilities to help tackle loneliness; recognises the contribution of the Welfare Committee, whose work over the years has improved the lives of many of the older citizens of Grangemouth; understands that the Welfare is very much a part of the wider community in the town, helping out with the Grangemouth Children’s Day, and taking part in events and outings throughout the year; welcomes this funding and the difference it believes it will make for the facilities at Talbot House, and looks forward to seeing members of the Old People’s Welfare around the communities of Grangemouth in the near future.
