Larbert High School Pupil Wins Global Art Competition
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Katie Hedges of Larbert High School on her joint first place result following her art submission to the Never Such Innocence 2021-2022 competition; understands that the competition, Life After Conflict, is run by the Never Such Innocence charity and gives children and young people from across the world a platform to make their voices heard on global issues through art, music, poetry and spoken word; further understands that the competition theme was used to highlight how people, communities and countries rebuild after conflict, and encouraged entries to incorporate the competition’s five key themes of resolve, recover, rebuild, reflect and remember to create a powerful and thought provoking image; understands that Katie, who is in S2 at the Falkirk secondary school, submitted her piece of art entitled The Cost of Survival, which it understands was placed joint first, presiding over numerous entries from across the world; congratulates Katie on her achievement, and wishes her well in her future art endeavours.
