Baljaffray Primary School in Bearsden Raise Money for DEC Ukrainian Appeal

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Baljaffray Primary School on raising £10,754.23 for the DEC (Disaster Emergency Committee) Ukrainian appeal; commends the pupils, from P1 to P7, and staff who walked over 2,000 miles in distance by completing laps of the football pitch over a 14-day period in order to receive donations from those in the community; notes that the DEC holds appeals to help those in crisis, such as the people of Ukraine, by helping provide food, water, shelter and healthcare, as well as protection for the millions who are displaced by conflict; understands the impact that such a large donation can have on the families fleeing Ukraine, and thanks the families of pupils and staff at the school, as well as the wider community, who came together to in order to raise money for the appeal.
