The motion

That the Parliament commends Lorna Thomson and Martin Hood, who have been walking the John Muir Way in memory of their father, James Hood, and raising funds for the valuable work of the British Heart Foundation; understands that the 134-mile route of the John Muir Way from Helensburgh to Dunbar was one of James’ favourite routes and that this walk is a fitting tribute to his love of the outdoors; notes that family, friends and members of the public have embraced this fundraising activity with enthusiasm, joining Lorna and Martin on the route and reaching a running total in excess of £1,250 through JustGiving; delights that a Facebook group, for which Lorna is admin, named Walk, Run, Cycle in East Dunbartonshire, has grown to have 7,300 members, who share encouragement, hints and tips about actively exploring the local area that James loved so much, and sends its best wishes to Lorna, Martin, their family and friends as they undertake the final section of the John Muir Way.
