Tunnock’s Recognised as One of the Nations Favourite Brands

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates what it sees as the iconic family-owned Uddingston firm Tunnock’s on its inclusion in a list of favourite brands of shoppers in Scotland; understands that this list was compiled by the data analytics and brand consulting firm Kantar over a 12 month period; notes that Tunnock’s, established in 1890, now employs 700 staff and is home of the globally-known caramel wafer and teacake; acknowledges that Tunnock’s ranked in the top three Scottish brands on the list, alongside Irn Bru and Graham’s Family Dairy; welcomes the findings, which, it understands, show that spending on Scottish brands has increased by 16% since 2020, and commends shoppers across the country for what it sees as their growing commitment to Scottish brands.
