The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the announcement of an exciting new partnership deal between Hamilton Park Racecourse and Strathclyde Sirens, who are Scotland's only semi-professional national female netball team; considers that, as one of the UK’s most popular race experiences and classified as a VisitScotland five-star attraction, Hamilton Park provides a host of opportunities for partners to reach new audiences and join an established and supportive community of businesses, charities and local groups; understands that Hamilton Park supports local organisations and clubs through donations and fundraising to assist charities, clubs and organisations to maximise its potential to fundraise on racedays; notes that Strathclyde Sirens are committed to being a champion for change and have been at the forefront of leading the gender equality agenda in Scottish sport, which makes the team a suitable addition to Hamilton Park’s growing family of partners and management, who share a commitment to uphold similar values, and welcomes the recent dual promotions that saw Ashley Moon appointed as Managing Director of Hamilton Park Racecourse, and Fiona Murdoch appointed as Managing Director of the Hampton by Hilton Hamilton Park Hotel, alongside her role as Group Finance Director for the Hamilton Park Resort.
