Wishaw Care Home Celebrates Fit-Baw Victory

The motion

That the Parliament recognises residents at Beechwood Care Home in Wishaw who are celebrating victory, after being awarded a Fit-Baw 90 accolade for their hard work throughout a 12-week fitness programme; understands that instructors Paul Mooney and Seamus Duggan led Fit-Baw lessons, which is a gentler form of football, as part of the home’s activities programme designed to keep residents healthy and happy as they socialise and exercise together; notes that, working with their instructors, the Fit-Baw 90 programme saw residents set targets to improve their strength, balance and coordination together; understands that Fit-Baw 90 ended with squad captain, Harry Gilmour, accepting the trophy on behalf of his team, as staff members and residents applauded their shared victory, and wishes residents at Beechwood Care Home all the very best for the future.
