Inverclyde Acrobats’ Success at Scottish Aerial Performance Championships

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the students from Flex UK Circus School in Port Glasgow on their success at the Scottish Aerial Performance Championships, at which they took podium places in nine different categories and won eight gold medals; believes that Natalie McKay, who runs the Circus School and is a world champion on the aerial hoop, was delighted to see so many of her students triumphing against tough competition, particularly Farrah Roxborough, who won a gold medal at her first ever competitive outing; recognises that the young coach, Heather Dougan, who helps Natalie train the troupe, brought home two gold medals, with the 15-year-old seeing off coaches in their twenties and thirties to win two categories; understands that, overall, the Port Glasgow group won 12 podium places at the championships, and wishes the students and coaches all the best for the future.
