Winning Design for the Scout Association’s New Rights Challenge Badge
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Christopher Stewart of 12th Glasgow Scouts (1st Lenzie) on his winning design for the new Rights Challenge Badge being adopted by the Scout Association; shares the delight of his fellow members and leaders that Christopher’s design, of the international human rights dove logo soaring over the earth alongside the Scout emblem, was selected by judges; understands that this skilfully-designed badge was unveiled at the Scottish Parliament and praised by the Children’s Commissioner at an event to celebrate the Commission’s 18th anniversary; delights that the activities undertaken by members of the association for this badge will equip them to understand their own rights and the ways in which they can advocate on behalf of others, and wishes Scouts and Cubs much enjoyment and fulfilment as they grow in their enthusiasm for becoming a positive voice for human rights locally, nationally and internationally.
