Perform in Perth Receives The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Perthshire Musical (Competition) Festival Association, known as Perform in Perth, on receiving The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service; understands that this is the highest honour that a voluntary group can receive and is equivalent to an MBE; acknowledges that this is made even more special as the group, which is 100 years old, has received this award in The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee year; considers that Perform in Perth, which is an annual festival of speech, music and dance that takes place for around two weeks in March with around 2,800 performers of all ages taking part, is solely run and organised by volunteers, one of which has been doing so for nearly 60 years, and commends everyone involved for their tireless work and dedication.
