James Bertram Recognised in The Queen’s Birthday Honours List

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Greenock resident, James Bertram, who is aged 54, on being awarded the British Empire Medal in The Queen’s Birthday Honours List for his services to policing and his voluntary role with the Scottish Ambulance Service; understands that James has dedicated 15 years of his life to working as a first responder and is also the national health and safety manager for Police Scotland; acknowledges that the COVID-19 pandemic had a profound impact on James and his team as they were responsible for keeping police officers across the country safe during the heights of the pandemic; notes that, despite this additional challenge in his job, James remained committed to his voluntary role as a first responder with the local ambulance service; thanks James for giving up his own time to assist the Scottish Ambulance Service, and hopes that his service will encourage other people to consider taking up volunteering.
