Andrea Bradley Elected as EIS General Secretary
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Andrea Bradley on becoming the first woman to be elected as the General Secretary of the Educational Institute of Scotland (EIS) in its 175-year history; understands that Andrea has a long association with the EIS as a member, activist and national officer, including serving as a health and safety rep and branch rep; notes that Andrea is currently co-vice chair of the Scottish Trades Union Congress Women’s Committee; further notes that Andrea has a wealth of professional experience, and began teaching in 1995 as an English teacher in Inverclyde and was a principal teacher of English in South Lanarkshire, and wishes Andrea all the best in representing the interests of members of the EIS, Scotland’s largest teaching union.
