Success of Re-Tweed

That the Parliament thanks multi-award-winning social enterprise, Re-Tweed, based in the fishing town of Eyemouth, for all they do for women impacted by domestic violence and women with experience of the criminal justice system; understands that Re-Tweed offers women a new way to think about their futures by gaining the skills and experience for creative industry and enterprise, while producing amazing and original furnishings, fashions and crafts, through a course designed to build self-confidence, employment and leadership skills; believes that, as well as delivering craft, design and technology training, and teaching sewing competency, Re-Tweed also delivers on the greener Scotland agenda of reducing, re-using and recycling, and that at least 70% of Re-Tweeds fabrics and materials are recycled and made using environmentally sound methods, helping to meet what it sees as the growing demand for ethical fabric and educating the public on the benefits of ethical fashion; notes what it sees as the impressive international tartans arm of Re-Tweed, which has over 150 registered tartans, including the recently recreated and accredited Spirit of Ukraine tartan, and the tartans of African countries; wishes all at Re-Tweed every success for the future, and encourages all to take a look at what Re-Tweed has to offer.
