The Executive Shaving Company Becomes Scotland’s Newest Employee-owned Business

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Executive Shaving Company; understands that it has become the latest firm in Scotland to become employee-owned; further understands that this move has ensured that the business remains in Scotland, protected the jobs of its loyal employees and given them what it sees as a meaningful stake in their organisation and a genuine say in how it is run; praises the work of Co-operative Development Scotland in its support of the business to make the transition, and to see it join what it understands is just over 200 employee-owned businesses now in Scotland, and believes that further work is needed in this sector to support and promote co-operatives in order to reach the Scottish Government target of 500 employee-owned businesses by 2030.
