The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Inverclyde Faith in Throughcare (IFiT) on being awarded £123,000 from the National Lottery’s Community Fund; understands that the local charity will use this award to employ a full-time project support worker over three years to help the organisation continue its vital one-to-one work with people adjusting to everyday life after spending a period in prison; notes that IFiT aims to challenge preconceptions held about former prisoners making new lives for themselves in communities and raises awareness of the hurdles they face; believes that this significant funding award reflects how much this initiative has grown since it was established in 2019, and why initiatives like IFiT are so important to support people who have been involved with the criminal justice system to access the services they need; appreciates that IFiT volunteers help the project to support the 35 participants from across Inverclyde, and thanks all those involved with IFiT for their commitment to helping people who have left prison to rebuild their lives.
