UK Government’s Punjab Education Support Programme II in Pakistan
The motion
That the Parliament recognises the UK Government's efforts in Pakistan to increase enrolment and improve learning outcomes, including literacy and numeracy, for girls and the most marginalised students in Punjab Province's primary and secondary schools; understands that, by March 2022, all government school children and children attending school through the Punjab Education Foundation, including 50% girls, will have benefited from UK support in Punjab; notes that the programme ran from February 2013 to March 2022 with a projected budget of £437.1 million and a total spend of £429.3 million; commends the UK Government's efforts in Pakistan, and applauds to the success of this programme and everyone involved.
