Kilwinning Academy, Youth Philanthropy Initiative

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Kilwinning Academy pupils for donating £3,000 to North Ayrshire Women’s Aid; notes that the funds were won by pupils of the Youth Philanthropy Initiative, an annual event empowering young people to make a difference in their communities while developing a range of skills and supported by local businesses; understands that pupils Millie Johnstone, Christine Begley, Lily Ward, Rebecca Doyle and Ebony Harvie were awarded first prize of £3,000 by drawing attention to how much help the donation would provide to the charity, with a view to building a working relationship between the charity and the school; recognises that North Ayrshire Women's Aid is a unique specialist service that provides emotional and practical support to women and children affected by domestic abuse; congratulates the pupils on their success and kindness, and wishes them all the best for the future.
