Fundraising in Memory of Jay Kennedy

The motion

That the Parliament commends over 300 fundraisers who raised £50,000 for Ayrshire Cancer Support in memory of Jay Kennedy, from Ayr, who passed away from brain cancer in October 2021 at the age of 20; understands that fundraisers walked 44 miles from Glenbuck to Ayr in one day; recognises that the money raised will go to fund a complementary therapy room at Ayrshire Cancer Support’s new centre in Ayr; notes that fundraisers originally aimed to raise a target of £15,000, which has been surpassed, and applauds fundraisers for their efforts in raising money in memory of Jay, which will go to supporting others facing cancer and their families.
